Third Annual Pawpaw Fest
When: Sunday October 6, 2-5 pm. Welcome circle to begin around 2:15-2:30, followed by a tour of the pawpaw groves.
Where: Simpler Thyme Organic Farm, 1749 Hwy 6, between Guelph and Hamilton (not the u-pick apple orchard across the highway).
Who: Brought to you by The Urban Orchardist, the folks at Simpler Thyme, Karen Houle, and Meaghan Mechler.
Cost: Free! But show some love by bringing cash to purchase fresh veggies, fruits, garlic, and other products from Simpler Thyme's farm store.
What to expect: Lots of great people, lots of pawpaws to eat, fresh apple cider, cobs of sweet corn cooked in a cauldron over a fire, an apple tasting contest (bring your favourite apple!), a lino print station (bring your own cotton shirt, bag, or other fabric to take home your own Pawpaw Fest print), and more.
Rain or shine. Family-friendly. Dogs best left at home due to loose chickens (or kept on leash if you need to bring them).
Any questions? You can write me at matt@theurbanorchardist.com.
What is a pawpaw, anyway?
